Talks

If you would like a talk at your dive club or dive shop then our project team are very happy to oblige.  We have a presentation that we constantly update with any project development.

The talk begins with an overview of the history of the time - the occupation of Europe by Germany, and the planned invasion of France by the allied forces - Operation Overlord.  We then look at the rehearsal exercises that took place in the run up to the invasion, one of which was Exercise Tiger. The role of the German Schnellboots in the war is explained and the events of the night of 27/28th April are then described.

From there, we will look at history of our project, why it was set up, and what we hope to achieve, and follow on with a historical description of what we've been up to on our dives. This is supported with photos, videos, sketches and some new 3-D imagery, produced from our survey work.

Of course, no talk would be complete without a taster of what we have planned for the coming years, and we'll take a little time to go into this as well. We always try to find out a little about the audience that we'll be addressing, so if there are specific areas that you're interested in, such as how you set up a project like this, or specific techniques that we've used, then let us know.  It's a simple matter to tweak the presentation to make it more specific to the interests of your group.

The talk takes about an hour or so, and you should add on a little time for questions and discussion at the end.  If you'd like more information, them please get in touch!
